I have a friend who is both involved in the open source software development movement, and HIGHLY communicative. His opinions have had a major impact on how we approach developing our products.
If you are not aware, the short version is that open source software is written by a volunteer community of developers in a very open, collaborative fashion. The software is usually then made available free of cost. This website is powered by Drupal - a very good example of open source software. Linnux is another very good example. This process has and continues to produce some outstanding results.
While we are not an open source developer, we work very hard at a one part of the open source process that we respect a lot. We activley seek input from our users, trial users, and from folks who don't use our products. So we post betas, and try to discuss the direction of this software a lot. One of the resons for this website is to promote these discussions.
Fortunately for us sales professionals are - by nature - not reticent. Not at reticent at all, by gosh.
So please continue to tell us what is on your mind, what you like, don't like. We absolutely treasure your ideas, thoughts, questions, problems, comments and fellowship.
