Virus protection and your computer's registry

One of the ways that an IT department or virus protection software can defend your computer from malware is to lock down your systems registry.

The registry has traditionally been the place where programs could store settings that it needed to remember. Desktop Sales Manager kept information in the registry - for example it kept the name of the last sales pipline file used...so when the program started again it remembers the last-used sales pipeline file.

With version 6.6 of Desktop Sales Manager the registry is no longer the place where Desktop Sales Manager remembers things. This makes it much more tolerent and accespted by virus protection programs and security concerns of IT groups.
