Multiple Productsby rodzilla ()Question from a customer: I sell irradiation for medical devices, and I therefore work with alot of different prices. DTM only facilitates one price. Can I add more products, quantites and prices through Template Manager? Template Manager allows you to modify any of the 20 existing fields: Finally, the template manager allow you to do some calculations between fields. It is tempting to try Regarding pricing of multiple products, the Template Manager does not (currently) allow a Price property field to be calculated. There are a couple of approaches that are used to manage this matter. Each sales item/opportunity represents a decision by your client to buy one of the services you offer. For example, if you have offered a client five services and they can select or reject each of them independently, then consider having five sales opportunities - not as hard as you might imagine. Create one opportunity, the cut/paste it to create the second, third fourth, etc. Then modify the product/price/due date in each. If you offer a bundle of products and the customer makes one decision to accept or reject the bundle, then the situation changes. You might use fields to track revenues for individual products and enter the total into a price field. An alternative is to use one of the three Journals to track products/pricing - especially easy if you can cut/paste quotes - and then again use a Price field for total revenue. The latter is the more common approach. |
